Wednesday, October 10, is a PSAT testing date for all Maine West freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Seniors will not be in attendance on October 10.
The PSAT is a practice SAT test, which is used by colleges and universities as an entrance exam, just as the ACT. Most importantly, the PSAT is used to identify talented students for the National Merit Scholarship Program. On October 10, freshmen will take the PSAT 8/9, while sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT.
Students are to report to their rooms by no later than 8:00 a.m., and students will report to their advisories unless the are testing with accommodations. Students testing with accommodations will receive a separate room assignment. Testing will begin promptly at 8:05 a.m. and will end at approximately 11:30 for freshmen and at 11:45 a.m. for sophomores and juniors.
The College Board has provided this list of what students must bring, may bring and are prohibited from bringing to the test room.
