A host of students from Maine Township High School District 207 schools were honored recently as they were chosen to participate in the Illinois Music Education Education Association (ILMEA) District 7 Festival.
One student, Maine South’s Timothy Wilcox, was selected for Band, Choir, Jazz Band 1 and Senior Vocal Jazz Ensemble 1.This is also the first time in the district’s history that one student has been selected for four ensembles.
Students honored from Maine East include Evelyn Alsop, Matthew Bonto, Chloe Borto, Daniel Cho, Natalie Dababneh and Kaye Hidalgo.
Students honored from Maine South include: Ava Barruffi, Emily Bensing, Savannah Bensing, Madison Beyer, Izabela Bisiak, Mia Buchheister, Leah Cardenas, Lucille Hassman, Zachary Hassman, Nicolette Mayer, Logan Maurer, Benjamin McCarrick, Brendan McGreevy, Maren Nazar, Austen Nelson, Tim Nelson, Maeve O’Hara, Rosemary O’Hara, Connor O’Shea, Danny Paprocki, Finley Pullano, David Rundblad, Claire Shaffer, Megan Snow, Taylor Truckenbrod, Timothy Wilcox and Alexander Wille.
Students honored from Maine West include: Augustus Freitag, Dulf Vincent Genis and Aurelia Lawson.
Student musicians earned 2021 Illinois Music Education (ILMEA) All-District honors following submission of audition videos that were judged by a panel of professional musicians. The top and the top placing scores were selected for participation in the District 7 Honors Ensembles. These elite student musicians performed in the District Music Festivals on November 6, 2021.
