There are two ways in which an athlete qualifies for the Athletic Hall of Fame:
The first is to earn All-State honors in an IHSA sanctioned sport. The athlete must be named first or second team All-State by the IHSA, recognized State Coaching Association, the Chicago Tribune or the Chicago Sun-Times.
The second way is to have earned at least 6 Varsity letters and named All-Conference in two different sports.
Candidates must finish their career as a Maine West H.S./IHSA/CSL athlete in good standing.
Each inductee will receive a certificate and plaque and will have their picture displayed in the Maine West Athletic Hall of Fame.
