Maine West High School is hosting its second annual Warrior Con on Saturday, November 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Upper and Lower Commons. Admission is $5 a person and proceeds directly support the Maine West Fine Arts Boosters.

From all across Chicago and the U.S., comic book creators and artists will be signing and selling their books and art work at this family-friendly event. The current writer on Superman, Incredible Hulk, and many more Marvel and DC projects, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, will be featured at Warrior Con as a special guest.

Attendees can enjoy an action packed day of exploring booths filled with comic books, toys, collectibles, plushies, Hot Wheels, Lego sets and much more pop culture merchandise. Guests can also showcase their style by participating in Warrior Con’s costume contest.

“This event is an incredible way to bring a different part of our Des Plaines community and the surrounding cities together,” said Maine West Director of Bands and Warrior Con Point Person Bernie Gerstmayr. “The pop culture collector community is a huge part of the current culture and we are so excited to bring so many active creators, artists and vendors into our school to share their awesomeness with us! It’s a great way to support the Fine Arts and get some fun gifts and treasures for yourself and others.”
