Student & Family Services Department Vision
Our vision as professional school counselors is to empower students to achieve academic, career and personal/social growth to their fullest potential. We seek to inspire all students to follow their passion while utilizing their strengths and skills to become lifelong learners. We envision all students graduating Maine West with a post secondary plan that will guide and support them in navigating their path to become informed, inquisitive, and responsible citizens, who are happy and productive members of society.
We believe:

School Counselors serve as advocates for all students

School Counselors serve as liaisons between teachers, students, parents and administrators

All student individual differences should always be taken into account when implementing and planning guidance curriculum, especially in regards to individual post-secondary planning

In proactive outreach programs delivered through classroom lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling.
